Kidneys are certainly important organs in your body. They filter the waste from your blood, create urine and release hormones that control blood pressure, adjust bodily fluids. Kidney diseases can be caused by high blood pressure or blood sugar. Factors like age, smoking, overweight, and gender may also play their roles. About 10% of the population suffers from this disease.
If it runs in your family or you have already been diagnosed, it’s better to follow your diet along with the medical treatment, dialysis or kidney transplant. The diet for people with renal disease may vary depending on the stage.
In general, people with kidney disease should limit the food that contains certain nutrients, and most importantly sodium, potassium, and phosphorus. We have prepared a list of foods that are low in the three elements mentioned above, but you should consult with your doctor before you choose the ideal diet for you.
1 – Cauliflower
This vegetable is a rich source of nutrients like vitamin C, K, and B. The nice amount of fiber found in cauliflower will improve your digestion. It also contains indoles, which are natural anti-inflammatory compounds. You can eat cauliflower raw, roasted or even mashed.
